A medal of Our Lady of Guadalupe is a beautiful and powerful reminder of the Virgin Mary's apparition to St. Juan Diego in Mexico. Hanging this copper medal in your home or office can help you remember to pray to Our Lady for her intercession. When you wear the medal, it can serve as a conversation starter about your faith with others who may not know about Our Lady of Guadalupe. The story of Our Lady of Guadalupe is an amazing example of God's love for all people. In December 1531, Juan Diego was on his way to Mass when he saw a beautiful woman standing on top of Tepeyac Hill. She asked him to go to the bishop and tell him that she wanted a church built in her honor. Although Juan Diego was initially skeptical, he soon realized that this woman was the Virgin Mary. He went to the bishop and relayed Mary's request. The bishop asked for proof, so Juan Diego returned to Tepeyac Hill where he found roses blooming despite it being wintertime. He gathered them up in his tilma (cloak) and took them back to the bishop. When he opened his tilma, not only were the roses still fresh, but an image of Mary had been imprinted on it! This miraculous event converted many people to Christianity and continues to inspire Catholics today. Our Lady of Guadalupe is often called upon by those seeking healing or intercession from problems big and small. Wearing a medal bearing her image is one way we can show our devotion and ask for her assistance whenever we need it throughout our day-to-day lives. Height 82-mm, Width 39-mm, Depth 4-mm. This Pewter Charm Does Not Include a Jump Ring or Split Ring.
