The Umbar ring is a sterling silver ring inspired by Middle-earth. In the latter part of the Second Age, Sauron presented nine rings to nine men; this ring represents Umbar, the seaport stronghold once controlled by the Númenóreans.
The ring has an antiqued finish with rhodium and black ruthenium plating. It features a genuine 8x6 mm amethyst cabochon. The band measures 12.3 mm at its widest point and 5.9 mm at the back; it stands 5 mm from your finger to the top of the stone. Weight is 6.7 grams and varies with size. The inside of the band is stamped with the maker’s mark, copyright, and STER.
Available in US sizes 6 to 20, in whole, half, and quarter sizes; sizes 13.5 to 20 are an additional USD. Listed Rhodium Plated options include sizes 6, 6.25, 6.5, 6.75, 7, 7.25, 7.5, 7.75, 8, 8.25, 8.5, and 8.75. The maker strongly recommends getting your finger sized at a jewelry store.
The black ruthenium plating is quite thin due to equipment limitations. With daily wear, it will probably begin to wear off within a week, especially on rings. A free one-time re-plating is offered; later re-plating services are available for the return shipping to you, with an additional charge for international shipping. Plating color may look different on screen due to monitor values; unless stated otherwise, most photos are taken under studio lighting. Standard packaging is a Badali Jewelry Ring Box and a card of authenticity, subject to availability and replaceable with a suitable alternative. This ring is cast to order; allow 5–10 business days for it to be made.
