The history of royal carriages dates back to the time when they were a primary mode of transport for royalty and nobility. These carriages were often lavishly decorated, showcasing the wealth and status of their owners. They played a significant role in ceremonial events, parades, and state occasions, symbolizing the power and prestige of the monarchy. Over the centuries, royal carriages evolved in design and craftsmanship, incorporating the finest materials and the most advanced technologies of their time.
One of the most famous examples of royal carriage miniatures is the series created by Peter Carl Fabergé, the renowned Russian jeweler. The Fabergé Royal Carriages are perhaps best known for their association with the Russian Imperial family. Fabergé's creations were not just carriages but also intricate works of art, often crafted as Easter eggs for the Russian Tsars. These miniature carriages were made with precious metals, enamel, and gemstones, and they featured incredible attention to detail. The Fabergé carriages are celebrated for their exquisite craftsmanship and are considered masterpieces of decorative art.
Keren Kopal, inspired by the legacy of Fabergé and the historical significance of royal carriages, has created a collection that pays homage to these magnificent vehicles. Each trinket box in the Keren Kopal Royal Carriages series is handcrafted with meticulous attention to detail, using high-quality materials such as enamel, crystals, and gold plating. These trinket boxes are not only collectible items but also serve as a tribute to the artistry and craftsmanship of a bygone era.
